Speaking at the re-opening ceremony of the newly-restored Yıldız Palace, President Erdoğan said: “As a result of six years of meticulous restoration and furnishing work carried out by the Directorate of National Palaces, we have revived the Yıldız Palace. The Yıldız Palace, one of the symbols of our city, is opening its doors to our people and visitors from all over the world as of today.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the re-opening ceremony of the Yıldız Palace.
“As a result of six years of meticulous restoration and furnishing work carried out by the Directorate of National Palaces, we have revived the Yıldız Palace, a legacy of our ancestors. The Yıldız Palace, one of the symbols of our city, is opening its doors to our people and visitors from all over the world as of today. May the Yıldız Palace, which we have restored to its former splendor and beauty and put it at the disposal of our nation, be auspicious,” President Erdoğan said.

Noting that numerous specialists contributed to the restoration of the Yıldız Palace, President Erdoğan said: “I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the Directorate of National Palaces, its director and his team, all my brothers and sisters who took part in the project, Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten, Chairman of the National Palaces Scientific Committee, and members of the committee, who have been instrumental in the restoration of this monument, which has been damaged, ill-used and neglected for years. I believe that with the restoration of the Yıldız Palace, the historical, cultural and touristic appeal of our Istanbul will increase even more.”
