President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks at an iftar dinner in Istanbul. Noting that the holy month of Ramadan was greeted and observed with a heavy heart this year due to the massacres in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, President Erdoğan stated that one of the most brutal genocides of the century was taking place in Gaza, where nearly 40 thousand people, mostly children and women, were martyred, 73 thousand people were wounded and more than 7 thousand innocent people were trapped under the rubbles. “The hypocrisy of Western countries, which criticize Israel before public, but support Israel with weapons and ammunition so that it can carry out its massacres, has turned Gaza into the world's largest graveyard of children and women,” President Erdoğan said, underlining that international institutions and organizations once again failed in Gaza, and the Islamic world did not perform well during this period. “Many efforts have been made; many attempts have been made at international institutions. However, all these diplomatic efforts failed to have the expected effect in the face of Israel's impudence, lawlessness and arrogance. As Muslims, we definitely need a self-reckoning. I believe that the sooner and more open-heartedly we make this self-criticism, the better it will be for the Palestinian people and the entire Ummah of Muhammad. As Türkiye, we will not hesitate to speak the truth, to shout out what is right and the truth, even if it is painful. As we struggle for the further strengthening of our country, we will also intensify our efforts to root the awareness of unity in the Islamic world,” President Erdoğan said. “WE WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE OUR HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA” Stating that the attacks on Gaza showed the importance of power in preventing attacks against the oppressed as well as themselves, President Erdoğan pointed out that the value of the defense industry projects they have carried out despite various sabotage, embargoes and obstacles is much better understood today. “It is becoming clear why some people are targeting KAAN and why they are disturbed by Akıncı, TB2, Kızılelma, Anka, President Erdoğan said, noting that they will add new ones to these projects in the upcoming period. “We will continue to increase our humanitarian aid to Gaza, which we have delivered since the first day despite many difficulties, and has exceeded 40 thousand tons. Let me express one point here; Just as Türkiye welcomed its neighbors during the Iraq-Iran war, just as Türkiye became an ansar to the refugees fleeing persecution in Syria, just as Türkiye has never turned its back on any of its brothers and sisters from the Caucasus to Crimea, today Türkiye is protecting its brothers and sisters in Gaza with all its means. No slander can change this truth; lies and distortions cannot cover up this truth,” President Erdoğan said.
