Addressing the 13th Concordia Annual Summit in New York, President Erdoğan, on the Türkiye-Iraq Development Road Project, said: “With such a step we will take, we will have the opportunity to build a new world.”     President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, answered questions during the 13th Concordia Annual Summit. “TÜRKİYE STANDS READY TO PROVIDE AID TO MOROCCO AND LIBYA” Concerning the disasters in Morocco and Libya, President Erdoğan stressed that Türkiye stands ready to provide aid to both countries, but that Morocco has yet to respond to Türkiye’s offer for help. Noting that Türkiye has dispatched three giant cargo planes and three ships of relief materials, equipment and foodstuff to Libya, President Erdoğan said: “Our teams continue their works in Libya. We deem this our humanitarian duty.”  Answering a question regarding inflation, President Erdoğan said: “The global inflation threatens the entire world at the moment. In the face of such a situation, the steps to be taken by the countries where global inflation is dominant are of critical importance. We have paid the price of this inflation as well, and are still paying it. However, our economic administration is currently working hard and exerting great efforts for this issue. They are managing a successful process and during this successful process, I believe that we will succeed as of the end of the year, at the beginning of the new year at the latest, and get positive results. We will enter 2024 in a totally different manner.” “WE HAVE MULTIDIMENSIONAL RELATIONS WITH THE U.S” Responding to a question regarding Türkiye-U.S. relations, President Erdoğan stated: “We have multidimensional relations with the U.S. from security to trade. Our bilateral trade volume has exceeded 32 billion dollars. The value of U.S. firms’ investments in Türkiye, on the other hand, is 14.5 billion dollars.” Making remarks on his visit to Sochi last week to meet with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Erdoğan said they discussed grain shipment to African countries, and that he told Mr. Putin that this grain corridor should be rapidly re-operated. Answering a question about the Türkiye-Iraq Development Road Project, President Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of the project, and noted: “With such a step we will take, we will have the opportunity to build a new world.” “TÜRKİYE IS AMONG THE TOP FIVE COUNTRIES WITHIN NATO” Responding to a question regarding NATO and Türkiye’s membership within the Alliance, President Erdoğan pointed out that Türkiye, with both its military power and the financial support it provides, is among the top five countries within NATO, and added: “We have such a position within NATO with both the military power and financial support we provide. We have not made any compromise on this issue so far. This strength of ours within NATO is appreciated by NATO-member countries as well. We have duly fulfilled the duties we have been given within NATO thus far, and we will continue to do so, because we as the NATO-member countries all have common interest in this.” Asked whether the world is responding accurately to the global migration crisis, President Erdoğan said: “The approaches to this issue in some countries are positive. For example, I think that the U.S. is one of the countries that have a positive view about immigrants. The same goes for Germany and France as well. Likewise, we as Türkiye have a totally different approach towards immigrants.” Noting that Türkiye is building brick houses and new houses in the north of Syria, President Erdoğan said 600 thousand Syrians have voluntarily returned to these places so far, and that they will enable more people to return to their lands thanks to the houses to be built jointly with Qatar.
