President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Turkish Contractors Association International Contracting Services Award Ceremony in Ankara.
“I have no doubt that our country’s potential deserves much more in the contracting sector as in every field,” President Erdoğan said.
Stating that underdeveloped and developing countries still need infrastructure, President Erdoğan also noted that developed countries are increasingly in need of renewing their aging infrastructures.
“” President Erdoğan said. “I see no obstacle before us having a say in at least 10 percent or even 15 percent of the global contracting services sector in the next 10 years.”
“WE CAN RAPIDLY MULTIPLY OUR PRESENT BUSINESS VOLUME AND TURNOVER IN THE CONTRACTING SECTOR”
“I expect you to focus on bigger and more qualified projects and to take our country and yourselves to the top of the sector,” President Erdoğan said, and added: “Just as we made a great leap in the defense industry over a short period of time, it is possible for us to rapidly multiply our present business volume and turnover in the contracting sector.”
Praising the contracting sector to be a fruitful industry, President Erdoğan said: “We know that many of our companies, which have proven themselves in this field, have made successful investments in many fields such as tourism, energy, industry, health, education and agriculture. I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your contribution to the growth of our country with your exponentially increasing investment, production, employment and export power.”
“As the contractors who undertook the construction of the first century of our Republic, you have important tasks ahead of you in the construction of the Century of Türkiye,” President Erdoğan said.
Underlining that Türkiye is a more than its current borders, President Erdoğan said: “We are citizens of a state that is unique in the world with its wide historical, political, social and cultural sphere of influence. Anyone who sees the dynamics of our country only in terms of numbers on paper, who tries to weigh our strength with speculative reports, has been disappointed until today. The fate of those who make the same mistake today will be the same.”
“We are implementing programs to strengthen the macro economy without compromising our goal of developing our country through investment, employment, production and exports. Thanks to the climate of trust that we have consolidated, international financial institutions have started to pour tens of billions of dollars into our country. It is also seen that our companies and citizens are mobilizing the resources they have been keeping in their safes or under the mattress for some time. Inshallah, we will soon see the positive effects of this in every field from public borrowing to loans,” President Erdoğan said.
