Following is President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s message on Eid al-Adha: My august nation, Dear brothers and sisters, I salute you from the bottom of my heart with affection and respect, and wholeheartedly congratulate your Eid al-Adha. We thank Allah for letting us reach another Eid al-Adha in peace and health. I wish Eid al-Adha may lead to auspicious developments for our families, nation, the Islamic world and the entire humanity. Eids are sacred days when we as a nation remember our unity and solidarity as well as our eternal brotherhood. Eid al-Adha is a fruitful period when sharing and solidarity reach a peak particularly through the worship of sacrifice. I believe that during these months when our hearts are already wounded due to the February 6 earthquakes, Eid al-Adha will further strengthen the climate of brotherhood among our citizens. I, on this occasion, remember our over 50 thousand citizens who lost their lives in the Disaster of the Century, and wish patience to their families. We maintain our works without any break in order to heal the wounds caused by the earthquake and to get quake victims reunited with their new homes as soon as possible. We preserved this sensitivity of ours during the recent election period as well. We frequently visited our brothers in the quake zone, sharing their sufferings and inspecting the ongoing works on site. Our reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts continue at full pace. We are inshallah starting to hand over the first batch of the post-disaster houses as of the months of October-November. As we promised to our nation, we are determined to complete the construction works of the 650 thousand post-disaster houses, 319 thousand of them within the first year. Now that we have left behind the May 14 and May 28 elections, we have the opportunity to focus more on our nation’s problems. From now on, we will dedicate all our energy and time to developing Türkiye and meeting our nation’s needs. I hereby once again extend my gratitude to each and every member of my august nation as well as our brothers and sisters living abroad who made us live two democracy festivals between two eids with the strong support they provided. Türkiye successfully held one of the most critical elections of the last century in an atmosphere of feast of democracy envied by the entire world with a record high turnout nearing 90 percent. No doubt that the entire Türkiye with its 85 million citizens won in the elections. Our country has also gained yet another five years that it will spend with services, projects, investments and reforms. We will work shoulder to shoulder with our cabinet and our alliance partners in order to be worthy of our nation’s trust. We will turn the Century of Türkiye, whose construction we started as of the morning of May 29, from a dream into a reality. Our goal is to make our Republic’s new century a new milestone of revival and social reconciliation in every respect in our nation’s fight to defend its future and independence. We have made our preparations, formed our cadres, and determined our targets. We will definitely reach the destination of the Century of Türkiye by following the path drawn up by our nation. We will continue to work with affection for the next 5 years, as we have done over the past 21 years, never compromising on our politics of works and services. May Allah remove the obstacles in our path and give us luck. I pray for Allah to acknowledge the worship of our brothers and sisters who are now on holy lands to fulfill their pilgrimage. I ask all our citizens who hit the roads for Eid al-Adha visits or holidays to strictly abide by traffic rules. I hope that Eid al-Adha may lead to auspicious developments for all of us, and salute you all with the sincerest feelings. I wish you a happy Eid al-Adha. May you all remain in good health…
